Chef Ernst Frank

Ernst Frank, Hotel Grande Bretagne's Executive Chef, started his life in the kitchen quite literally due to his mother's aversion to hospitals. "Mom didn't want to go to the hospital, so when she went into labor I was actually born in our kitchen." Emancipated at fifteen, Ernst had made up his mind to spend his life in the kitchen and pursued a career as a professional chef. Beginning in 1973 as Commis De Cuisine in Hamburg, Germany, Chef Ernst has created a standard of excellence in prestigious hotels around the world, including the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, South Korea, China, Syria, Ethiopia and Kuwait.

As Hotel Grande Bretagne's Executive Chef, Ernst brings his global experience to Athens. Bringing innovation and personal enthusiasm to the GB Rooftop, he creates new standards of quality.

His imaginative fresh fruit dessert with mango sorbet was refreshing to the palate as well as to the senses. Visually it was as remarkable as the restaurant's view of the moonlit Acropolis.
